Houen Heng

Starting From
Overview
Houen Heng, locally known as 'Dog's Horn', is one of the most iconic peaks of the Pir Panjal Range in South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Rising to an elevation of around 4,200 meters above sea level, the mountain is known for its dramatic landscapes, alpine meadows, rugged cliffs, and deep-rooted place in Kashmiri folklore. The peak gained historical significance after the tragic 1966 Fokker F-27 aircraft crash, whose remnants can still be found in the surrounding mountains. Offering breathtaking views of both Kashmir Valley and parts of Jammu, Houen Heng remains a hidden gem for trekkers, nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers looking to explore Kashmir beyond the usual tourist destinations.
